Final blog

Hi guys,

It's been quite soms time since my previous post. This is because I'm concentrating more and more on my final papers and exams. Therefore, this will be by final post.

I have already written 17 posts or so, in stead of the obligatory 10 posts. So I have spoilt you anyway!

I will leave you with one more IT tool I have discovered. Well, actually I have just stolen this idea from one of my fellow students. You will see it below, as soon as I finished by post.

It was the first time I consciously used Open Source Software. Unfortunately I discovered this too late, so I couldn't use it for our course 'User Interface Design' anymore. But anyhow, it is fun to show you!

This was I can give you a short look into my world, as I am typing this post right now. You have already discovered my little trick and help; the Web site http://www.mijnwoordenboek.nl/ where I translate every word I don't know in English or which has simply left my mind for a moment.

Thanks to all my readers, you have been a loyal and fun audience to write for! Although I sometimes found it difficult to come up with interesting subjects, I could regularly write a post and I received quite some comments!

After I have written this post, and probably after I have finished my paper for this course, I'll return to my personal blog which I have maintained for quite soms years already.

In short: Thanks and see ya'll soon!

Kind regards,

Tessa

P.s.: If you'd like to use this software too, just leave me a comment and I'll tell you how and where to get it!

Friends make identity?

I just watched an ad on tv from the new Samsung phone.

It begins as a really nice ad, about friends: close friends, working friends, boyfriends and girlfriends.
But then they claim that being connected with your friends, makes you who you are. Illustrated with a fingerprint.

Take a look:

What about it?
What about this: what's the deal with your friends creating your identity?
Is that true? Do those 450 friends on hyves/facebook/etc make you you? Are you better with 300 friends than with 50 friends? Are you a loser if you don't have a profile on a social media Web site at all?
Does that mean you don't have friends whatsoever?

Is it not so that it depends on your identity who become your friends?

Tell me what you think!
Are you also that struck by this ad, or don't you care?

Tell me!
